Soccer: Totti risks missing month with hamstring injury

(see related story) (ANSA) – Rome, October 21 – AS Roma captain Francesco Totti risks being sidelined for a month after being injured in the Serie A leaders’ 2-0 win over title rivals Napoli on Friday.

The club said tests on Monday showed the 37-year-old striker, whose strong form has led to talk of him coming out of international retirement at next year’s World Cup, had suffered a hamstring injury.

A statement said the player had begun his recovery programme and his condition would be reassessed in 10 days.
