Woman critical after husband sets fire to face
(ANSA) – Padua, October 22 – A 35-year-old woman whose husband lit her face on fire remained in critical condition at the Padua Hospital on Tuesday, two days after her attack, while her 47-year-old husband remained at large.
The Chinese couple ran a shoe factory together. The woman was severely injured Sunday during a domestic fight when her enraged husband sprayed highly flammable shoe-making glue in the woman’s face.
He then chased her outside and lit her on fire.
The man fled the scene.
Neighbours responded to the woman’s desperate screams and called police.
The industrial glue made putting out the flames difficult.
Burns cover 20% of the woman’s body.
