55.1% of Italian businesses to see profit in 2013
(ANSA) – Rome, November 6 – The number of Italian businesses to foresee a profit in 2013 has risen slightly over last year to 55.1%, the Bank of Italy revealed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the number of businesses predicting a loss for the year has fallen to 26% from 30.2% in 2012. The service sector, including hotels and restaurants, is the worst hit this year.
Demand for loans continues to fall. Orders are down except where they concern the export market.
The figures were based on a survey conducted on more than 4000 businesses.
