Pope tells Catholics not to follow ideologies
(ANSA) – Vatican City, October 17 – Pope Francis said Thursday that Catholics should avoid being seduced by ideology.
“If a Christian becomes the disciple of ideology, he has lost his faith,” Francis said in a Mass at Saint Martha’s House, the Vatican guesthouse being used as a residence by the humble, simple-living pope instead of the papal apartments.
“He is no longer a disciple of Jesus, he is a disciple of this way of thinking.
“Ideology distances people and the Church.
“The phenomenon of ideological Christians is a serious illness”.
