Francis in popemobile foray
P(ANSA) – Vatican City, April 27 – Pope Francis on Sunday took his popemobile a fair way beyond the confines of St Peter’s Square to please the maximum number of faithful after the canonisation of popes John Paul II and John XXIII. Francis instructed his driver to cruise down the Via della Conciliazione, the broad avenue that joins the Vatican to Castel Sant’Angelo. He went as far down as the medieval papal stronghold, built over the tomb of the Emperor Hadrian, in an effort to wave to as many pilgrims as he could.BR/P
