A bridge connects two galaxies

Un ponte collega due galassie

(ANSAmed) – Rome, June 12 – two of our neighbouring Andromeda Galaxy and the Triangulum Galaxy, may have had a close encounter billions of years ago: testifies to a bridge of superbubbles of gas that binds together them. Thanks to the Green Bank telescope (Gbt), one of the largest and most famous of the world radio telescopes, the discovery is due to a group of researchers at the National Observatory of radio astronomy (Nrao), the University of Maryland and the University of West Virginia.
