Ancestor of the Platypus was carnivorous
(ANSA) – SYDNEY, 5 Nov – the Platypus, semi-aquatic marsupial in dense coat and the duck-billed, had giant carnivorous ancestors and sharp teeth that can crush the turtle’s shell. Biologists from the University of new South Wales have been identified the species, which lived between 5 and 15 million years ago, of a molar tooth discovered in Queensland.
Baptized Obdurodon tharalkooschild was one of the larger waterways animals. The discovery is the journal of vertebrate paleontology.
