Car market posts fifth month of growth
P(ANSA) – Turin, May 2 – Italy’s auto market grew for the fifth consecutive month in April, the transport ministry said Friday. New-car sales were up 1.94% on the year, from 116,838 to 119,099, the ministry said. But Fiat bucked the trend. The Turin-based carmaker said that sales were down 1.71% in April compared to the same month last year. Italy’s biggest automaker sold only 34,589 cars last month, down from 35,192 in April 2013. Fiat also saw its market share dip from 30.12% to 29.04%.BRHowever that amount was up from March’s 28.1%.BR/P
