Constitutional Court mulls ‘pigsty’ election law

(By Denis Greenan). (ANSA) – Rome, December 4 – Judges from Italy’s Constitutional Court on Wednesday started examining the nation’s much-criticised election law with a decision expected late Wednesday or early Thursday.

The lawyer representing 27 prominent citizens who filed an appeal earlier this year urged the court to rule the law was against the Constitution, saying this would put pressure on politicians to change it.
