Consumer confidence highest since June 2011

The boost was attributed to an improving economic climate, ISTAT said, with its consumer confidence index rising to 101.7%, the highest since June 2011. Analysts also cite positive expectations for a reduction in unemployment numbers. The jobless rate in Italy currently stands at a record 12.9%, and is well over 40% among youth.
