Coypus invade Venice cemetery and school
(ANSA) – Venice, October 24 – Coypus have invaded the cemetery on the San Michele island in the Venetian Lagoon and a school in Venice, local police said on Thursday.
Officials said many specimens of the large rodent had been captured at an elementary school in Venice and in the San Michele cemetery where the Coypus ate flowers on tombs.
Also known as river rats, these rodents are herbivorous and live in burrows close to the water.
