European markets lose ground on news of ECB assessment (ANSA) – Milan, October 23 – The Milan bourse lost ground Wednesday on news the European Central Bank (ECB) will begin assessing bank assets in November ahead of single EU banking supervision. The FTSE Mib index dropped by 2.38% to close at 18,910 points and the FTSE All-Share Index shed 2.26% to close at 20,023 points. Madrid also closed in the red, with the IBEX Index sliding by 1.8% to close at 9,828.30. In Paris, the CAC-40 Index shed 0.81% to close at 4,260.66 points, while London’s FTSE 100 fell by 0.32% to close at 6,674.48 points.

Frankfurt followed suit, with the DAX Index dropping by 0.31% to end the day’s trading at 8,919.86 points.
