PGary Hartstein, chief physician for the F1 series between 2005 and 2012 issued the warning, suggesting that since Schumacher’s serious skiing accident in December, his condition has deteriorated./PPHartstein is not part of Schumacher’s medical team./PPSchumacher, a seven-time F1 world champion, suffered serious brain injuries after hitting his head on a rock when skiing off-piste in the exclusive French resort of Meribel, and has been in a medically-induced coma./PPFor eight weeks, doctors have been attempting to gradually bring the German out of his coma by reducing sedating medication./PPHartstein said on his blog that the longer a person is in a coma, the “less and less” the chance he has to come out of it alive./PP”I am amazed by the depth and persistence of the love of his fans,” wrote Hartstein./PP”But I think you have to begin to prepare for the worst”.
