Five arrested for blasting cash machines for cash

(ANSA) – Rome, December 11 – Italian police on Wednesday arrested five people in the southern Italian region of Puglia charged with taking part in a series of cash-machine heists using explosive gas ignited by electrical current. The suspects rounded up between Brindisi and Taranto, in the heel of Italy’s boot, are charged with blasting and extracting cash from a series of ATMs between April and August in the provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto.
