Health: Italians consume too much salt
(ANSA) – Rome, Aug 30 Italian exaggerate with salty foods and increasingly less potassium, naturally present in fruit and vegetables, thus increasing the risk of contracting serious illnesses and imbalances. Data from the National Institute of research in food and nutrition (Inran), in fact, show that every day an Italian adult ingests an average of about 10 grams of salt, equivalent to 4 grams of sodium: that is to say ten times more than what is physiologically needed.
