Italy is one of the best places for moms

P(ANSA) – Rome, May 6 – Italy is one of the best countries for children and mothers, according to Save the Children’s annual State of the World’s Mothers (SOWM) report.BRIn 2014 Italy ranked 11th out of 178 countries reviewed, six spots higher than its 17th place in 2013. Finland, Norway and Sweden took the top three positions, as they have done over the last few years, while Niger, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Somalia held the bottom places. Since 2000 the SOWM report has been a tool to show where mothers and children fare best, and where they face the greatest hardships, using the latest data on health, education, economics, and female political participation.BRphoto: Valerio Neri, head of Save the Children Italia/P
