(ANSA) – Rome, October 18 – Premier Enrico Letta’s centre-left Democratic Party (PD) lost half a point sliding to 28.4% but staying on top in research agency Ixe’s weekly poll on Friday followed by ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi’s People of Freedom (PdL) party which edged up from last week’s 22.6% to 24.5% overcoming the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement of Beppe Grillo which slumped two points to 21.8%.
The weekly survey was carried out by the Trieste-based institute for state broadcaster RAI’s third channel on a sample of 1,000 would-be voters.
