Mafia informant on the loose after prison leave

His escape comes as police are pursuing a convicted serial killer who hijacked a car and went on the lam Wednesday instead of returning to prison after a similar leave granted for good behavior. Both instances are seen as a threat to a package of justice reforms aimed at reducing Italy’s severe prison overcrowding.
