







































P(ANSA) – Rome, April 24 – Romilda Bollati di Saint Pierre, president of the Bollati Boringhieri publishing house, has died.BRShe was 82.BRHer funeral was celebrated privately in Turin on Thursday.BRBollati, who bought the publishing house in 1987 with her brother Giulio Einaudi, was a source of great inspiration for Cesare Pavese, one of Italy’s major 20th century poets and authors.BRPavese is believed to have fallen in love with her after the end of his relationship with actress Constance Dawling.BRBollati has long been considered the ‘Pierina’ to whom he dedicated a number of tormented love letters before he committed suicide on August 26, 1950.BRShe managed the prestigious publishing house until 2009, when she sold it to the GEMS editorial group.BR/P
