Naples man arrested for beating wife over 10-year period

December 20 – A man was arrested on Thursday in the Sant’Antimo area near Naples for beating his wife over a 10-year period following the latest episode of punches and kicks that the woman had suffered in silence out of fear of further retaliation. The 35-year old man was taken into custody after the latest incident involving the mistreatment of his wife. The latest beating occurred while he was under house arrest for drug dealing. It was after this intervention at the residence of the woman that the police determined she had been beaten for some 10 years, also in the presence of the couple’s children. The woman had always justified injuries sustained in the past as the results of domestic incidents to medical staff.
