New York celebrates ‘Giorgio Armani Day’

(ANSA) – Milan, October 24 – New York on Thursday will be celebrating ‘Giorgio Armany Day’ in honour of the Italian designer’s longtime relationship with the city , Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced.

The honour decreed by Bloomberg celebrates Armani’s special connection with New York, where he opened his first boutique on Madison Avenue 35 years ago.

To mark the occasion, Armani has organized an event, One Night Only New York, with a retrospective of over 100 looks from the designer’s Prive’ collections, including his latest haute couture collection, Nude.
