No bids for Defence Ministry luxury cars
P(ANSA) – Rome, May 5 – No bids had been made by Monday for any of the nine luxury Maserati automobiles that the Italian defense ministry had put on the online auction Website Ebay on April 28.BRThe auction for the former ‘auto blu’ – chauffeured vehicles for high ranking public officials – is due to expire Thursday.BRStarting prices range from 23,000 euros for a 2005 sedan to 96,000 euros for a 2011 armour-plated vehicle.BRCheaper vehicles earlier flew off the online auction block. The first 25 State cars to be put on sale yielded gross proceeds of 250,000 euros.BR/P
