PThe photos are among the first showing Bersani as he recovers from emergency brain surgery in a Parma hospital in mid-January after he was admitted on January 5./PPThe images reportedly show him in excellent shape, walking near his home as he continues a rehabilitation program./PPDoctors at the Maggiore hospital in Parma had said there appeared to be no brain damage to Bersani, who failed to lead the PD to victory in last year’s general election./PPAfter the election, he then could not persuade the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) to back a government led by him after the election./PPInstead, the PD had to settle for a left-right coalition headed by Bersani’s then-deputy, Enrico Letta./P
