Red Cross task force for canonization

P(ANSA) – Rome, April 22 – Some 600 volunteers from all over the country will be part of an imposing Italian Red Cross task force to be deployed in aid of Catholic pilgrims expected to flock to Rome for the canonization of popes John Paul II and John XXIII on the weekend, sources said Tuesday.BRThe task force will also include 23 ambulances equipped to deal with critical emergencies, 33 regular ambulances, a mobile reanimation unit, 43 health care teams on foot, a Code White or pediatric emergency tent, four so-called Mom Points for families with small children, and dedicated accounts on Twitter (@CRI_RM) and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/roma.cri).BRThe social media accounts will transmit real-time information and alerts dealing with both health and weather emergencies in English, French, Italian, Polish, and Spanish.BRThe 600 volunteers will be housed in tents in a case camp at Red Cross headquarters in Via Ramazzini.BR/P
