Risk of asthma for children born in the autumn

(ANSAmed) – Rome, 6 December – birth in autumn increases the risk of suffering from bronchial asthma. This is demonstrated by a study about 104.455 children led by Wei-Chang Yuanpei University Pins in Hsinchu in Taiwan and published in the journal PLoS ONE. According to scientists, the greater susceptibility of children born in the autumn to get sick with asthma could relate the fact that small live the cold climate in the first months of life, and the cold is associated with increased incidence of respiratory infections.
