Rugby: Parisse in running for player of the year
(ANSA) – Rome, November 22 – Italy captain Sergio Parisse was named one of five candidates for international rugby player of the year on Friday.
The International Rugby Board will announce the MVP at the end of November. Last Saturday against Fiji, Parisse met a personal milestone of appearing in his 100th international match. He was also nominated for the title of MVP in 2008. If he wins, he will be the first Italian in history to take home the honor.
