PHe added that teachers should not fear that will happen./PPSalaries “will not be reduced”, and a plan that teachers would be required to repay earlier salary increases “has been annulled,” said Saccomanni./PPHe said the issue was simply “a technical problem that led to an excessive reaction”./PPTeachers had threatened a national strike over a plan that reportedly would require some to return 2013 monthly seniority payments of 150 euros./PPThe plan triggered a public and political outcry and earlier Wednesday, Education Minister Maria Chiara Carrozza said on Twitter it had been scrapped. “The meeting at the premier’s office is over. Teachers won’t have to give back 150 euros. I’m happy for educators,” she tweeted./P
