Soccer: Catania sack De Canio, reinstate Maran

PThe Sicilian club put De Canio in charge in October after a poor start to the season, but their form failed to improve under him and the last straw was Wednesday’s embarrassing 4-1 defeat to second division Siena in an Italian Cup match./PPDe Canio’s is Serie A’s ninth coach sacking of the season, including Maran’s.
