Spread closes steady on 234

(ANSA) – Rome, December 2 – The spread between Italian 10-year bonds and their AAA-rated German equivalents, the premium investors pay to hold Italian paper, closed steady Monday on 234 points with a 4.07% yield. Banking losses pushed the Milan bourse 1.52% down by the close, the biggest loser in a mostly negative day across Europe.

London was 0.83% down, Frankfurt 0.04%, Paris 0.22% and Milan 0.94%.

Athens closed 2.72% up amid optimism on its recovery.
