The Amazon is a cloud factory

(ANSA) – Rome, 31 AUG – the Amazon forests behave as natural factories: rich in potassium salts cloud particles emitted by plants encourage the increase of particles around which clouds are formed. The discovery, made by a group of international researchers, coordinated by the Max Planck Institute and published in the journal Science, helps the understanding of the dynamics of the atmosphere on the important role of aerosols in the balance of the greenhouse effect.
