Transgenic mouse speeds up research on HIV
(ANSA) – new YORK, JUL 19 – promises a revolution for research on vaccines against the HIV virus: time and cost of clinical trials could be reduced thanks to a new laboratory rat with immune system ‘human’. This animal model, the first to faithfully reproduce what happens in the body of the man after HIV infection, was obtained by researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital, along with those of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
