TV license-fee dodging to fund tax cuts
P(ANSA) – Rome, April 16 – The government is planning to use cash recovered from people who dodge their RAI TV license fees to put towards a flagship 80-euro-a-month tax cut for lower-income earners, well-placed sources told ANSA Wednesday.BRThe license dodging has been estimated to be worth some 300 million euros a year.BRHalf of this would go to the Treasury for Premier Matteo Renzi’s signature move to help those who earn less than 1,500 euros a month, while the other half would be given back to RAI, the sources said.BR/P
