In a statement, the foreign ministry added that Francesco Scalise and Luciano Gallo, taken hostage in an area beyond Libyan authorities’ control, were rescued in an operation “thanks to collaboration between Libyan and Italian authorities”. PThe two were taken hostage in Derna, Cyrenaica, several weeks ago. Their families had been asked by the foreign ministry to refrain from commenting on the situation for security reasons. Anti-Italian sentiment has been on the rise in the former colony during Fascism. The Italian cemetery in Tripoli was attacked twice last month, leaving one guard dead and several graves damaged./PIMG id=mediaViewer title=”” alt=”” src=”http://www.mineralfossil.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/wpid-trasp20.gif”ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
