Venetian Florian Cafe' opens contemporary show in Florence (ANSA) – Florence, October 11 – A symbol of Venice, Cafe’ Florian which opened a Florence branch in 2006, is showcasing its contemporary art collection in the Tuscan city starting Friday. The Florentine Florian will host 14 installations by contemporary artists Fausto Gilberti, Marco Nereo Rotelli, Pietro Ruffo, Irene Andessner, Paolo William Tamburella, Mimmo Rotella, Gaetano Pesce, Arcangelo, Bruno Ceccobelli, Fabrizio Plessi, Massimo di Capua, Luca Buvoli, Massimo Nordio, Aron Demetz. The exhibit features artwork commissioned by the Venetian cafe’ since 1988 to represent the liaison between the historical venue, which opened in Piazza San Marco in 1720, and contemporary art. The work of artists Botto&Bruno, Omar Galliani and Marco Tirelli will be shown starting mid-2014. The cafe’s basement will also host an exhibit by young Florentine artists. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
