From Mindat.Org Photo Of The Day; November 29, 2016:

Graphite: C

Locality: Lin-yaung-chi (Bright Light Rays), Mogok Valley, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Division, Myanmar

Dimensions: 11.7cm x 9.8cm x 6.2cm

“One of the specimens I was able to bring out of Myanmar during the 4th Annual Mindat Conference. I collected this at one of the Spinel mines we went to visit. Thanks to Don Doell who let me whack on a large marble boulder he found at the site, I was able to break out this specimen with a good sized graphite crystal lying flat on the matrix. Other graphite crystals are dispersed on both sides of the specimen. Graphite was not listed as a mineral from this locality so I added it.” John Montgomery
