Working first kidney ‘recycled’ biotech

(ANSA) – ROMA, 15 APR – has been successfully transplanted the first biotech ‘recycled’ kidney. The organ, taken from a mouse, was ‘cleaned’ and regenerated with the new cell system: once transplanted the resumption of the work, filtering the blood and produce urine. Experiment, published in Nature Medicine by researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, opens the way to the production of organs for transplantation ‘customized’, obtained with cells taken from the patient.(ANSA).
